Bhutan
I arrived in a country that has some really nice air. Bhutan. I arrived in the capital of Thimpuh a few days ago. The city is surrounded by mountains with green grass. Thimpuh reminded me of my hometown, but without as much trash and intricate balconies. After I was done looking around, I went to a restaurant to eat dinner.
At the restaurant, I ate jasha maru, a chicken dish, and fried rice. I noticed that the people here were not accustomed to seeing foreigners, because there aren't many tourists vsiting the country. The dishes that I ate tasted good, but it also tasted new, because I had never tried Bhutanese food before. After eating, I went back to the hotel.
The next day, I went to visit Semtokha Dzong. A dzong is a type of fortress style mainly found in Bhutan and Tibet. The Semtokha Dzong is the first of its kind to be built in Bhutan. It was created by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified Bhutan. ALong the way, I could see that the site was a popular place to visit, judging from the amunt of vehicles.
Semotokha Dzong is situated near beautiful moutains. With some flowers growing near it. When I first saw it, I thought that it looked a little too small, but then I realized that I was wrong. The fortress seems to be constructed with the resources nearby, such as bamboo and stone.
Inside of the temple, there were colorful taperstries and decorations, just like the ones that adorned the people's houses in the city. While walking around the perimeter of the fortress, I could see some staircases and structures that led to the outer wall of the dzong, which were also decorated colorfully. After I was done walking around the fortress, I went back to the hotel.
Bhutan is the only country in the world with a carbon negative, meaning that it is very green and clean. During my trip there, I could see that the country was also very colorful, with many traditions and colors. I would visit again, but I had to pay for every day that I was staying there, so I won't.
