Algeria
Yesterday, I arrived in the country of Algeria. It was so, so, hot. I was in the capital city of Algiers. The first thing that I did was getting some lunch at a resturant nearby.
I had couscous and shakshuka for my meal. My favorite was the shakshouka. It was wonderfully flavored with spices like cumin and paprika, and the sauce was good. The couscous wasn't my favorite, but it tasted better after adding meat and vegetables to it.
The climate was very, very, hot. I was sweating all day long. But despite that I decided to visted the Ottoman palaces. I went to the Palace of The Dey. It boasted splendid moasaic tiling, and my tour guide had many interesting facts about the palace to tell. During and after the tour, I was extremely sweaty. I was overheating.
Luckily, Algiers is a coastal city, so I was able to spend the rest of the day at the city's beautiful beaches. The beaches were like how you would expect a normal beach to look like, but that didn't mean that it wasn't refreshing to be in the water. Although, I will say that the sand was scorching hot.
The country of Algeria was a fun place to be. It had a lot of influence from other cultures, and that was what made visiting it really fun.
