Austria
I've recently arrived in Vienna, the capital of Austria. This is the first time I've been to Europe, and everything here looks quaint and small. The buildings here are shorter, and the cars here look rounder. The buildings also look like they're from the early 1900s because of their design. Europe feels less modern, but in a good way.
I went to get some food after I got off the airplane. I walked into a restaurant and bought wiener schnitzel, because I like fried stuff and it looked promising, and a milk cream strudel. The wiener schnitzel turned out to be very delicious, and the strudel was too. After finishing, I decided to go to Schonbrunn Palace.
The palace looked similar to Buckingham Palace in my opinion. It could have been because they were both built in the same era. Up close, the palace looked like the entrance of a mansion. There were two staircases on either side that led up onto a floor with some doors.
Inside the palace, there were white columns and walls, adorned with gold and chandeliers. In between the columns were statues or big windows. As I looked up, I could see more golden decorations, and a a beautiful fresco. It appeared to be Roman or Greek gods. doing god things.
Although the walls and ceilling were impressive, the floor wasn't. I thought that it was going to have some furniture or something nice, but nope. The ground was covered a bright red carpet that didn't look fit with the splendor of the palace. All of the other rooms were like this, but some did have a bit of furniture. When the tour was finished, I headed back to my hotel.
Austria was a country with a lot of culture, and reminded me a lot of France in the 1800s. The country has really good food, and fancy palaces.
